In short: A microschool is homeschooling, but with a licensed teacher and a small group of peers.

A microschool is an intentionally small, community-focused school; usually no more than 12–15 students. In this space, the teacher takes on the role of a learning facilitator and aids students through their homeschool curriculum. It combines the best of homeschooling (flexibility and personalization) with the community, structure, and hands-on experiences of traditional schools. Students are registered as homeschool students and may be enrolled in an umbrella school of your choosing.

We believe learning doesn’t have to happen five days a week to be meaningful. Our 4-day model allows time for rest, family, targeted tutoring, and project planning. It also supports a healthier work-life balance for students, families, and teachers. We keep our school size intentionally small which allows students to accomplish more in less time than a traditional school setting.

Our learning space is ideal for grades Kindergarten through 5th grade. As long as your learner is independent in the bathroom, they are able to join us. Reach out if you have any questions or concerns about your unique family needs.

We follow a Monday through Thursday schedule from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM. We welcome further discussion to better understand your specific needs if you require flexibility!

We are located inside of Westwood Baptist Church on Charlotte Pike! Although we are not affiliated with the church, they have everything we have been looking for: kitchen space, a full gym, co-working space, and a parking lot we can utilize for outdoor recess.

Yes, if you’re currently a homeschooling family in TN, just file your usual “intent to homeschool” form and you’re all set.

We also encourage our families to join the Honor School Umbrella program ($30/year) if you have a 5th grade student you want exempt from state testing or want additional support as a homeschooler.

Once you’ve filed your intent form with the state OR joined the umbrella program, you’re all set to send you student to our microschool!

We'll work with your family to build a plan that aligns with your family’s education goals and your child’s learning needs. To keep tuition affordable, families choose and purchase their preferred curriculum. We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all model. We’ll support the curriculum that works best for your child. Additionally, tuition also covers the cost of Zearn (math) and Lexia (reading) access. These are online platforms students can use in addition to their chosen curriculum.

No, we do not require a long-term commitment. We want to ensure that we’re a good fit for your family! We offer a one-month happiness guarantee. This 30-day trial period offers the opportunity for each family to determine if we’re the best fit for them. This also allows our team the opportunity to evaluate and ensure that we have the resources needed to meet the needs of each student.

While we do not refund the cost of tuition, if your family decides after 1 month of enrollment that we are not the best fit for you, your deposit will be refunded. If you choose to continue your enrollment after the trial period, the deposit becomes nonrefundable.

We see technology as a tool, not a toy. During academic blocks, students may use devices to access self-paced curriculum, AI learning platforms, and subject-specific tools that match their individual skill levels. This structure supports personalized learning and gives teachers time for 1-on-1 tutoring and small-group instruction. Outside of academics, all devices including cell phones are stored away. We want students to connect face-to-face and build authentic community. Our tech use is purposeful, and we promote digital wellness through tech stands, blue-light blockers, and by encouraging families to use parental controls to block unwanted content.

We do not ban cellphones. As we are a small group environment, it is easy to monitor appropriate use and teach responsible use. Cellphones are stored away during the school day and may only be out when communicating with family.
